Ingredients
- Russet potatoes (the GOAT for baking)
- Olive oil or butter
- Salt (coarse or kosher)
Steps
- Heat oven: 425°F (220°C)
- Scrub & dry the potatoes really well.
- Poke holes 4–6 times with a fork (steam escape).
- Oil + salt: Rub lightly with oil, sprinkle generously with salt.
- Bake directly on the rack (or on a tray below to catch drips).
- Bake 45–60 min, until a knife slides in easily.
- Optional but elite:
- Slice open
- Fluff the inside with a fork
- Add a tiny pat of butter
- Put back in the oven 5 minutes
