Ground beef and potato hash

Posted on April 2, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, hearty, and flavorful recipe for Ground Beef and Potato Hash, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner:

🥘 Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced small
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley or chives)

🧑‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Prep Potatoes:
    • Dice potatoes into small cubes. Optionally, parboil for 5 minutes for faster cooking.
  2. Cook Potatoes:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a skillet over medium heat.
    • Add potatoes and cook until golden and tender, about 10–12 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook Ground Beef:
    • In the same skillet, add the remaining oil.
    • Sauté onions, bell pepper, and garlic until soft.
    • Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  4. Combine & Season:
    • Return potatoes to the skillet with beef.
    • Add paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.
    • Cook for another 3–5 minutes to let flavors meld.
  5. Serve:
    • Garnish with fresh herbs.
    • Optional: top with a fried egg for a complete breakfast hash.

💡 Tips

  • For extra crispiness, cook potatoes separately in a little more oil before combining.
  • You can add cheese, hot sauce, or leftover vegetables for more flavor and texture.
  • This dish stores well and can be reheated for quick meals during the week.

If you want, I can also make a low-carb version using sweet potatoes or cauliflower that’s lighter but just as flavorful.

Do you want me to do that?
