🧾 Ingredients

  • 500 g fresh asparagus (trimmed and cut into pieces)
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup (or white sauce)
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Optional: garlic powder or onion powder

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Lightly boil or steam asparagus for 3–4 minutes (keep it slightly crisp), then drain.
  3. In a bowl, mix:
    • cream soup
    • sour cream
    • milk
    • half of the cheese
    • salt, pepper, and optional seasonings
  4. Add asparagus to the mixture and combine gently.
  5. Pour into a greased baking dish.
  6. Top with remaining cheese.
  7. Mix breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle on top.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
