Here’s a crowd-pleasing slow cooker cabbage meal that people really do go back for seconds.


🥬 Slow Cooker Cabbage & Sausage Comfort Bowl

🛒 Ingredients

  • 1 large green cabbage, chopped
  • 1 lb smoked sausage (kielbasa or andouille), sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 carrots, sliced
  • 2 cups baby potatoes (or chopped Yukon gold)
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (optional but adds depth)
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp thyme
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

Optional flavor boosters:

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes
  • Splash of apple cider vinegar (brightens flavor at the end)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Add potatoes and carrots to the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Layer cabbage on top.
  3. Add sausage, onion, and garlic.
  4. Pour broth and tomatoes over everything.
  5. Sprinkle seasonings.
  6. Cook:
    • Low: 6–7 hours
    • High: 3–4 hours

Finish with a splash of vinegar and stir gently before serving.
