How To Apply Baking Soda On Your Face

Posted on April 17, 2026 by Admin

Using Baking soda on the face is popular online, but it needs caution. It is not a skincare product, and incorrect use can irritate or damage the skin’s protective barrier in the Human skin.

⚠️ Important safety warning first

  • Baking soda is alkaline (high pH)
  • Human skin is slightly acidic
  • Frequent use can cause: dryness, redness, burning, or sensitivity

So it should not be used daily or as a routine face wash.

🧴 If someone still wants to use it (safe method)

🧼 1. Gentle spot mask (occasional use only)

  • Mix:
    • 1 tsp baking soda
    • 1–2 tsp water (to make a thin paste)

✋ 2. Apply carefully

  • Apply only on specific areas (not full face if sensitive skin)
  • Avoid eyes and lips

⏱️ 3. Leave for a short time

  • 1–2 minutes only
  • Do not let it fully dry

🚿 4. Rinse well

  • Use lukewarm water
  • Pat dry gently

🧴 5. Moisturize immediately

  • Helps reduce dryness or irritation

🚫 Do NOT use baking soda if you have:

  • Sensitive or dry skin
  • Acne-prone inflamed skin
  • Eczema or skin conditions

🧠 Better alternatives (safer skincare)

  • Gentle cleanser (pH-balanced)
  • Salicylic acid (for acne)
  • Glycolic acid (for exfoliation, mild use)
  • Moisturizer + sunscreen daily

🧠 Bottom line

Baking soda is too harsh for regular facial use. Occasional minimal use may exfoliate, but safer skincare products are far more effective and less damaging.

If you want, I can suggest a simple skincare routine for glowing skin using safe, affordable products.
