Slow Cooker Creamy Ranch Potatoes

Posted on April 7, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a tasty recipe for Slow Cooker Creamy Ranch Potatoes—super easy and perfect as a side dish:

Ingredients (Serves 4–6)

  • 2 pounds (about 900 g) small red or Yukon Gold potatoes, quartered
  • 1 packet (1 oz / 28 g) ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1–2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped chives or parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the potatoes: Wash and quarter the potatoes. No need to peel unless you prefer.
  2. Mix the creamy base: In a bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, ranch seasoning, garlic (if using), and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  3. Layer in the slow cooker: Place the potatoes in the slow cooker. Pour the creamy mixture over them, then dot with butter pieces. Stir gently to coat the potatoes evenly.
  4. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4–5 hours or high for 2–3 hours, until potatoes are tender.
  5. Add cheese (optional): If using cheddar, sprinkle on top about 15 minutes before serving and cover to melt.
  6. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle with chopped chives or parsley for color and fresh flavor.

Tips for Perfect Creamy Potatoes

  • Don’t over-stir while cooking, or potatoes may break apart.
  • Use small or medium potatoes for even cooking.
  • For extra flavor, add a few strips of cooked bacon on top before serving.

If you want, I can also give you a shortcut version for an Instant Pot that’s even faster but just as creamy and flavorful. Do you want me to share that?
