Ingredients
- 1 pound (450 g) breakfast sausage
- 2 cups biscuit mix (such as Bisquick-style mix)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional, for extra richness)
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- Chopped green onions or parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the oven
- Heat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a 12-cup muffin tin or line with muffin liners.
- Cook the sausage
- Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked.
- Drain excess grease and let it cool slightly.
- Make the batter
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs and milk together.
- Stir in biscuit mix, cheese, seasonings, and cooked sausage until just combined.
- Fill the muffin cups
- Divide the mixture evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full.
